Before I kick off with this post about the power of youtube and what it can do for your business, I have to pay credit to two local businesses for providing me with the story.
The first is the Hinterland Heart as you would know from reading my blog I am a coffee addict so for a great coffee in Nambour get in and see Tracey and be sure to tell her Adam sent you.

The second is the coffee news where this story was actually printed if you haven’t come across coffee news yet you will find it in all good coffee shops (Such as the Hinterland Heart) on the Sunshine Coast, I read the coffee news religiously as it is a wealth of information for local business owners as to what is happening here on the Sunshine Coast.

Right back to the story this is the excerpt from the coffee news.

“When Jo Stephens went into labour, her husband, Marc, knew what to do because, as a precaution, he’d watched an instructional video on how to deliver a baby on Youtube. The couple, from Cornwall, England, were expecting help from their midwife, but were informed the midwife was busy and they would need to call an ambulance. But their 2.2kg son couldn’t wait for the medics to arrive, and dad, who has Royal Navy training, took command of the situation. Little baby Gabriel arrived safe and sound, thanks to the YouTube video”

The reason I am telling you this is to let you in on a little known fact that most business owners don’t realize.
YouTube is third only to google and ebay as a search engine.
And the best bit is people are searching on youtube to find out how to do things like in this extreme case, deliver a baby.

So how does this help you and your online business??
Have a think about what serices or goods you offer, could you make a quick video tutorial about how to get the best out of that product that could be loaded onto youtube?

Here is a great example of a business owner promoting his product on youtube. Ross Bain the inventor of hookeze (which he sells online and at the Eumundi markets) has just recently loaded this video tutorial on to youtube.
Hookeze is a quick safe easy way to tie you fishing hooks, watch this video below where Ross will explain exactly how it works



By now you should have come up with some great idea’s for some video’s to promote your business.
Youtube works so well that one little trick that I picked up from a video tutorial last week has increased traffic to my blog by 30%. Would you like a 30% increase in traffic just from making a youtube tutorial.
