This morning I attended an excellent marketing event run by Martyn and Nicky Price of ChildsPlay Marketing these are monthly events held in Buderim so if you want to network, with other business owners I would highly recommend you attend.

Getting back to the point of this post we were given a real life case study where each group was to come up with a marketing plan for a pizza shop.
Some great ideas were put forward but what I am going to share with you in this post, is how a pizza shop can be marketed online with a website and some very clever interactive web design.

How do I know that this works well because this pizza shop is owned by marketing guru Mal Emery’s daughter and I have actually heard Mal talk live at a seminar about how they set this web site up and how it all works.

Now as we all know the the pizza market is highly competitive and if you tried to compete against the bigger chains purely on price you probable are not going to have too much success.

So how do did Mal make this Pizza store stand out from the rest?? Well it wasn’t with a million dollar advertising budget if that is what you are thinking.
The first thing they decided was that they were only going to have one size pizza, this made them different from every other pizza shop straight up.
They use only the best ingredients and have a whole web page designated to putting your mind at ease, that the quality of the ingredients they use is going to the best available.

Their web design is very conducive to interaction with their customers. When you land on their home page they grab your attention straight away with a replica interactive wheel you can spin for the chance to win your pizza for free when you visit their store.
They have also utilized video as part of their web design in the form of customer rave reviews.

On the promotions page they have a competition where they have utilized the super hero theme.
You can get $5 off an number of pizza’s you purchase just by wearing your underpants on the outside when you go into the store. This one idea alone created so much interest that it even drew free local media attention!!!

They completely remove the risk for the purchaser of their pizza their guarantee is…
We guarantee our pizza’s are “Bigger, Better, Fresher or it’s FREE”.

I could go on and on about what they have implemented on their site but by now you should have gained some valuable insights as to how this could work for your business.
